The Android photo vault that actually encrypts.

Hidden is not the same as encrypted. Most photo vault apps put a lock screen in front of photos that stay readable on your phone. Lockspeare encrypts every photo and video on your device, so without your PIN or pattern they are just scrambled data.

Coming soon to Google PlaySee how it works

For Android. No account, no ads, no servers that see your files.

What someone with access to your phone's storage would find

For example, a repair shop, a forensic tool, or anyone who copies the files off your phone.

Where the photo isWhat they find
A hidden album in your galleryThe original photo, just left out of the gallery view.
A vault app that only adds a PIN screenThe original photo, in the app's folder.
LockspeareEncrypted data that cannot be opened without your PIN or pattern, or your recovery phrase.

How it works

  1. Choose a PIN or pattern

Your PIN or pattern unlocks a key that is created on your phone and protected by Android's secure hardware.

  2. Add your photos

Import from your gallery, share from any app, or shoot straight into the vault. Each file is encrypted on your phone, and Lockspeare helps you remove the originals, including the copy in your gallery's trash.

  3. Back it up, still encrypted

Turn on backup to your own Google Drive if you want. Files are encrypted before they leave your phone, so neither Google nor Lockspeare can open them.

Made for real privacy

A decoy vault
A second PIN or pattern opens a vault with harmless photos, if someone ever makes you unlock it.
Separate vaults
Each PIN or pattern opens its own vault. There is no list showing how many you have.
No screenshots
Vault content is blocked from screenshots, screen recordings and the recent apps preview.
Camera inside the vault
Photos and videos you take in Lockspeare never touch your gallery.
No account, no tracking
No sign-up and no ads. Crash reports are off unless you turn them on, and never include your files.
Full quality
Photos and videos are stored at their original resolution, never recompressed.

Questions

Can Lockspeare see my photos?

No. Your photos are encrypted on your phone before they are stored, with a key that never leaves your device. Lockspeare has no servers that receive your files or your keys.

Do I need an account?

No. There is no sign-up, no email and no phone number. You choose a PIN or pattern and start using it. Signing in with Google is only needed if you turn on the optional backup to your own Google Drive.

What happens if I forget my PIN or pattern?

You can open your vault with your 12-word recovery phrase, which you write down when you set up Lockspeare. If you lose both the PIN or pattern and the recovery phrase, nobody can open the vault, including us. That is the price of real encryption.

Where is my backup stored?

In a hidden app folder in your own Google Drive, or in any location you choose when you export a backup file. The backup is encrypted on your phone before it is uploaded, so Google sees only scrambled data.

Does it work without internet?

Yes. Everything except the optional cloud backup works offline.

Is it free?

Lockspeare is free to start, with no ads. An optional Pro upgrade adds more space and extra features. Pricing will be announced at launch.
